#thepath #thecode #selfdev # The Path ``` The Path is how you become what you want to be, and what the world needs you to be. It is how you reach your potential. It is the Path of Discipline that leads to [self-actualization]. -Jocko Willink, The Code, p.7 ``` ## Explanation (in my own words) This is a life operating system in order to ensure that we do not falter, and rise to become an eminently qualified human being in all that we do. We will strive to not waste our potential, to not rot and stagnate. This is to help solve for the issues of past lineage ## Reasoning My mother stagnated and decided she could not grow further. She tried to do what she could with what she had, but did not sufficiently continue to expand the idea of who/what she was. My father stagnated and decided he would not grow further. He tried to do what he could with what he had, but did not sufficiently continue to foster the idea of who/what he was. I will not stagnate, and i will grow further. I will do what I can with what i have, and continue to foster, expand, and redefine the idea of who/what I am. There are not impossible ideals, they are admirable goals to strive towards. Their sacrifices and examples allow me to understand that life can simply be a stagnation, it can be a process of not growing, it can be a process of allowing life to happen to you. It takes great effort and discipline to make life happen as you see fit, and to shape the circumstances to your design. I have lived this through myself, and seen this truth. I must make this absolutely clear. There should be no judgement to this. 100% none. Nothing is gained in judging others by your own standards, as no one should aspire to be “you”. They can be inspired by you, they can be discouraged by you. This cannot and should not be enforced. We can grow from what we were and ensure the sacrifices are made for future generations. Breaking the cycle, should be the cycle of life. # The Code (original) 1. I will take care of my physical health by exercising, eating properly, and getting the rest i need to recover and rebuild. I will take care of my physical surroundings, keeping them in order. 2. I will develop myself mentally by reading, writing, drawing, building, creating, and engaging in other activities that sharpen and expand my mind. 3. I will not waste time. Time is precious. 4. I will not waste money and i will make prudent financial decisions. Money is hard to earn. 5. I will set goals that i will strive toward. 6. I will excel in my job because work is integral to life. 7. I will be humble and not allow my ego to negatively impact my decisions. 8. I will control my emotions and not allow my emotions to negatively impact my decisions. 9. I will put others before myself. I will help other people and protect those that cannot protect themselves. I will take care of my friends and family, and treat other people with respect. 10. I will be ready to protect my friends and family. My gear will be ready. I will train and prepare to defend myself and others. # The Code (my version, WIP) This can incorporate the existing code, or develop my own 10 general orders. I can exceed 10, and I can do less than 10. # 06-19-2024 I aim to use this system in conjunction with Summit.IM, the AI tool which allows for messaging and communication of goals via an AI-generated Coach. I’m hoping this will be beneficial in shaping a regiment, but if not then i will stop using it after 30 days. I’ll need to ensure i have a proper prompt configured in order to leverage this, so for the next few days i’m going to make it my project to properly outline each facet of the The Code and it’s Evaluations. I think that doing this will help me to maintain a more structured regiment, and to look forward to my progress. I am already a well qualified individual; the next step is to strive for Pretenatural. # 06-22-2024 Working on the code with Summit.IM,
