Couldn’t help but share because the ideas all hit, but also didn’t want to throw a thousand things at you while you’re researching:
an organ that “solves hunger before the lizard brain” (lizard, lizard, Liz-lizard) made me think of what other things humans do simply due to needs not being met. Man is that a can of worms for a Wednesday morning.
Feelings of hunger satiated into a “status update” rather than to feel weak (makes me think of how we love, unavoidant, unexpectant)
Discovering and uncovering in sequential (and in our case, at times non-sequential) order. We time-travel too, don’t we? Our rehashing and reframings of our pasts are like pulling the other along; “here’s when you weren’t; when I thought of you and how you make me a kintsugi piece, filling gold in the cracks and seams to help build a better version of the Me I was before you knew I was”
